This was reported on the website of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Of this list, 7,339 killed and 13,969 wounded are in the territories controlled by Ukraine. Cases of death of 2 thousand 105 people and injuries of 2 thousand 971 people occurred in the temporarily occupied territories.
Since the beginning of August, the UN has recorded 258 civilian casualties in Ukraine:
- 48 killed (23 men, 21 women, 1 boy, 1 girl, and 2 adults whose gender is still unknown). Of these, 37 are in Ukrainian-controlled territory and 11 in the TOT;
- 210 injured (97 men, 57 women, 6 boys, 1 girl, as well as 2 children and 47 adults, whose gender is still unknown). Of these, 176 in the territory controlled by Ukraine and 34 in the WTO.
OHCHR believes that the actual figures are much higher as information from some locations where heavy fighting continues has been delayed and many reports are still awaiting confirmation. This applies, for example, to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lisichansk, Popasna and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region), where there are reports of numerous casualties among the civilian population, the department notes.
