After the start of a large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Poland began to strengthen its defense capabilities.
The control system of the Polish army will be changed. This was announced on Monday, August 14, by Polish President Andrzej Duda, PAP reports.
According to him, the changes are dictated by the need to standardize the system of command of the country’s armed forces.
He emphasized that the reforms include the creation of the Joint Forces Command and the re-establishment of the commands of the armed forces.
“The command of the branches of the Armed Forces will be recreated, responsible for the training of soldiers, for the daily operation of the troops, but its structure will be the same in peacetime and in during the war, so we can be more effective,” said Duda.
He noted that the current world situation is “a time of great challenges, but also a time of deep analysis and deep understanding of state issues, especially state security issues.”
It was previously reported that Poland is considering the possibility of completely closing the border with Belarus to protect itself from further attacks. This was said by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pavel Yablonsky. He emphasized that the threat from Belarus is real, in particular, the “Wagnerites” have already tried to penetrate the territory of Poland.
It should be recalled that Poland will deploy 10,000 soldiers on the border with Belarus.
