Düsseldorf Technology Group, on behalf of the German government, will provide the Armed Forces with a system for aerial reconnaissance.
The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall confirmed the delivery of the new generation aerial reconnaissance system Luna NG to Ukraine by the end of 2023. This was reported by the company’s press service.
A new generation of airborne short-range reconnaissance vehicles will now be deployed in Ukraine.
A technology group from Düsseldorf will supply an aerial reconnaissance system to the Ukrainian Armed Forces this year on behalf of Germany.
“This is one of the latest systems for unmanned aerial reconnaissance, classification and detection of objects in real time,” said the concern.
Luna is a newly developed unmanned system that surpasses the previous model in all important performance characteristics. In addition to being used as a reconnaissance system, drones can also provide LTE networks, intercept or jam communications.
Rheinmetall is also announcing a version of the drone that can carry weapons. However, the current modification, which will be delivered in Ukraine, will not have such a function yet.
Recall that earlier the media reported that Ukraine would “definitely” receive German Taurus missiles. The German Air Force has already given the green light for the supply of missiles for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sources said.
