Journalists from the Turkish newspaper Milliyet claim that the administration of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, amid the arrival of the head of the Kremlin, has stepped up diplomatic ties with the United States, Ukraine and the EU countries.
The goal is to strengthen contacts on the restoration of the grain deal, probably in an expanded format.
Officially, Putin’s arrival in Ankara has not yet been confirmed either in Russia or in Turkey.
Erdogan started talking about a possible meeting with Putin shortly after he unilaterally withdrew from an agreement with the UN and Turkey, which guaranteed the export of grain from Ukraine.
