The American businessman said he had reached an agreement with the Italian Prime Minister on the ancient location.
The battle between Tesla founder Elon Musk and Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg will take place against the backdrop of ancient Rome. On Friday, August 11, Musk himself announced this on his page at X.
“The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s funds (not the UFC). The live stream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in the frame is Ancient Rome, that is, nothing modern. I talked to Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture . They agreed on an epic location,” wrote Elon Musk.
Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano confirmed that he had a “long friendly conversation” with Musk, in which they discussed a “common passion for ancient Roman history,” according to the BBC.
According to Sangiuliano, the fight will take place in Italy, but not in Rome, and the profits from it can go to charity for two children’s hospitals in the country.
In the past, Musk has said that he is preparing for a battle with Zuckerberg. He challenged Zuckerberg to a duel in June after learning about the launch of the Threads social network by the company Meta, an analogue of Twitter (now X).
Zuckerberg said he was ready to fight Musk “now”.
