According to Andriy Yermak, head of the Presidential Office, 13 countries have already joined the G7 declaration. In particular, discussions are ongoing with the United States.
After consultations with each state, bilateral agreements will be signed, which will become guarantees of Ukraine’s security before it joins NATO.
It should be noted that Ukrainians consider the United States (52.1%), Great Britain (45%) and Poland (45%) the most reliable guarantors of the security of our country, according to a survey by the Razumkov Center commissioned by ZN.UA.
Security guarantee agreements for Ukraine should outlive any presidential administration in the United States, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said earlier.
We must secure long-term security agreements that will outlive any administration, any government, both here in the United States and among our allies and partners who have made long-term commitments to Ukraine’s security,” Miller said.
The comment of the representative of the State Department concerned the possible victory in the 2024 elections of Donald Trump, who has repeatedly stated that he will significantly limit or even stop support for Kyiv.
Miller stressed that security guarantees will be enshrined in interstate agreements that will remain in force, regardless of the person in the chair of the President of the United States.
