Some of the suicides may be related to fears of being caught by the Ukrainian military, according to intelligence.
There has been a significant increase in the number of suicides among Russian officials since the beginning of the entire Russian-Ukrainian war. This was announced by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Yusov on the air of the telethon.
“The number of suicides among the Rashists and Russian officials after the whole invasion increased and grew significantly. Some of them may be related to such fears (which will catch up with the Ukrainian military – ed.),” said he.
At the same time, Yusov recalled that the Russians who do not want to get their hands dirty with blood and carry out criminal orders, Ukraine is ready to accept, and different ranks, from privates to generals and commanders, within the framework of the I Want to Live project – if they give up.
Yusov was confident that this was the best and safest way for Russian officials.
“We guarantee treatment in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law, despite the fact that we are talking about murderers and aggressors,” Yusov assured.
He added that Russians who surrender voluntarily are guaranteed to be registered as captives.
