Poland begins testing an electronic barrier on the Russian border. In the near future, it will be used by the border service. This was said by the press secretary of the Polish Border Guard, Anna Michalska, PAP reports.
It was reported that the construction of an electronic border barrier with the Königsberg region began in April. The system of cameras and motion sensors will work for about 199 km. It will be divided into 12 sections.
Not far from Goldap, the last 12 electronic containers were installed. “These are important elements of the electronic barrier, which connects all the systems in different areas,” said Michalska.
At one site, the contractor, Telbud, has already installed all the equipment, including cameras and detection cables, he said. This is a site in the Shchurkov area, guarded by the border guard in Saint-Popol. The contractor is currently reviewing this section.
It is planned that the entire system will be ready by the end of September.
It was previously reported that Poland is considering the possibility of completely closing the border with Belarus to protect itself from further attacks. This was said by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pavel Yablonsky. He emphasized that the threat from Belarus is real, in particular, the “Wagnerites” have already tried to penetrate the territory of Poland.
It should be recalled that Poland will deploy 10,000 soldiers on the border with Belarus.
