According to him, the number of soldiers on the Polish-Belarusian border “will be about the same as before.”
There will be about 10,000 soldiers – 4,000 servicemen directly involved in the operation to support the Border Service at the border and 6,000 reserve people, – explained the head of the Polish defense department.
Blaszczak added that he was talking about “soldiers who will improve their skills in the garrisons restored in the east of the country.”
Let us recall that earlier Warsaw announced an increase in the number of military personnel on the border with Belarus in response to the violation of the country’s airspace by two Belarusian helicopters. On August 1, residents of the Polish village of Belovezh noticed two combat helicopters of Belarusians over their houses. Later, information about the violation of the state border was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Poland.
On August 7, it became known that Minsk began military exercises near the borders of Poland and Lithuania. Also in Poland, they announced the possibility of closing the border to protect the country due to the presence of Russian terrorists of the PKK “Wagner” in Belarus.
