Andrey Kobolev cannot leave Kyiv and the Kyiv region without the permission of the detective, prosecutor or court and must wear an electronic bracelet.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) extended the preventive measure for the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, for another two months. This was announced by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) on Thursday, August 10.
“On August 9, 2023, at the request of NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, the investigating judge of VAKS extended the preventive measure in the form of a bail in the amount of UAH 230 million to the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz for two months,” the report said.
The court also did not change the procedural duties assigned to Kobolev, including:
-
not leave Kyiv and the Kyiv region without the permission of the detective, prosecutor or court;
-
refrain from talking to a certain circle of witnesses in the case;
-
deposit a passport (passport) with the relevant authority for travel abroad;
-
wear an electronic control device.
Remember, on January 19, Andrei Kobolev was informed of the suspicion of abuse of his official position while securing for himself the payment of bonuses for 229 million hryvnias for the company’s victory in the Stockholm Arbitration with Russian Gazprom. According to the investigation, this amount far exceeds the normatively defined amounts of such payments (UAH 37.48 million).
It was previously reported that Kobolev was posted bail, but he did not pay it on time.
