On the occasion of the third anniversary of the protests in Belarus against a rigged presidential election, the Government of Canada announced the imposition of sanctions against nine individuals and seven legal entities in Belarus. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
It is reported that officials, judges and colleagues of the regime, in particular, the chairman of the Belarusian state television, Ivan Eismont, as well as the Ministry of Defense, the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and military production and technology companies fell under Canadian sanctions.
“Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms the Belarusian regime’s support for Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine, which has resulted in the death and injury of thousands of people, the displacement of millions , the disruption of the global economy and the worsening of global problems such as food and energy security,” the message said.
