Due to the introduction of an oil embargo against the Russian Federation, difficulties are possible in oil markets and, as a result, a shortage of diesel fuel and gasoline in Europe.
Germany should impose a speed limit on autobahns after the oil embargo against the Russian Federation to reduce oil consumption. This was stated by the head of the International Energy Agency Fatih Birol in an interview with Der Spiegel.
“It’s not going to mean big changes in people’s daily lives. We’re in a time of war, in an energy crisis, and we better prepare for more difficult times. And slowing down a few kilometers per hour. is a small compromise compared to the suffering of the people of Ukraine “, he said.
According to Birol, next summer there may be difficulties in world oil markets and, as a result, a shortage of diesel fuel and gasoline in Europe.
“When the peak of the holiday season begins in Europe and the United States, the demand for fuel will increase. Then there may be a shortage: for example, in diesel fuel, gasoline or kerosene, especially in Europe,” said the head of the International Energy Agency.
Recall, on May 31, the heads of EU countries agreed on the sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, under which oil imports are limited by two-thirds.
