Latvia became the 13th country to agree to provide long-term support to Ukraine in the field of security and economy.
Latvia joined the G7 Declaration on Security Assurances for Ukraine. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Latvia Krisjanis Karin in Twitter on Wednesday, August 9th.
“Latvia joined the G7 Declaration on Support for Ukraine. Together with our partners, we will support Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression as long as necessary,” he wrote.
Karins added that Latvia is waiting for a special international tribunal for Russia for aggression against Ukraine.
Recall that at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries adopted a declaration providing long-term support for Ukraine in the field of security and economy. Any country that at the bilateral level has officially agreed to provide certain guarantees to Ukraine can join this G7 declaration.
A week ago, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 12 states have joined the G7 guarantees and listed them.
