The UN believes the actual numbers are higher because information has been delayed from some areas where there has been intense fighting.
From February 24 to the present, 4,113 civilians have died at the hands of the Russian military in Ukraine, and 4,916 more have been injured. This was stated on Tuesday, May 31, in the report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
It states that 4,113 people were killed during the war (1,550 men, 1,023 women, 95 women and 100 men, as well as 69 children and 1,276 adults, whose gender has not yet been determined).
In addition, 4916 people were injured (978 men, 658 women, 115 women and 138 men, as well as 168 children and 2859 adults, whose gender is still unknown – (information needs to be verified)) .
The largest number of war victims – in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions – 2337 killed and 2808 injured. Elsewhere, 1,776 people were killed and 2,108 more were injured.
Most civilian casualties were due to attacks from heavy artillery and multiple launches of rocket systems, rockets and air strikes.
The UN believes the actual numbers are higher because information has been delayed from some areas where there has been intense fighting, and many reports are still awaiting confirmation. This applies, for example, to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region) and Popasna (Luhansk region).
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the simplified entry into Russian citizenship of Ukrainians orphaned or left without parental care. They called the order an attempt by the Kremlin to legalize the illegal movement of Ukrainian children from occupied territories to Russia.
