He noted that in the direction of Bakhmut, Ukrainian soldiers are advancing south of the city of Bakhmut, and gaining a foothold on the achieved lines. Also, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had partial success in the direction of Harvest, Shelter and Verbovoe.
“The enemy has conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Novokalinovoye, Avdeevka, Severny, Maryinka, Novomikhailovka and Staromayorsky. The enemy is suffering heavy losses in personnel, weapons and equipment,” the spokesman stressed.
Under the direction of Kupyansky and Limansky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped the offensive of Russian troops.
According to Kovalyov, the invaders tried to advance in the Sinkovka region of the Kharkiv region and restore the lost position around Kleschievka and in the Zaitsevo region, but they did not succeed.
“Fierce fighting continues. More than 30 clashes took place during the day,” added the representative of the General Staff.
Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were having success after breaking through the first line of defense of the invaders in several areas in the south.
