“The government has paid and is paying in full all social obligations,” he said.
In total, according to him, UAH 231 billion has been allocated for pension payments since the beginning of the year, which is 12% more than last year.
“In March, despite the war, payments were indexed for almost all Ukrainian pensioners. In general, more than UAH 140 billion worth of pensions have been paid since the beginning of the Russian invasion,” said Shmyhal.
In addition to pensions, the government continues to fund other social programs: assistance to adults and single parents, assistance to people with disabilities and subsidies, and UAH 30 billion is allocated for these programs within of three months.
Another UAH 10 billion was paid for programs for internally displaced persons.
“In addition to social support programs, we continue to fund the medical and educational sectors as much as possible. During these three months, only teachers were paid salaries worth more than UAH. 25 billion … More than UAH 25 billion was also spent on salaries for doctors, “said Shmyhal.
He also recalled that the government allocates hundreds of billions of hryvnia for defense.
It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada today increased state budget spending by 287 billion hryvnias, almost 248 of them – for national security and defense.
