Moscow Vnukovo Airport imposed restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft, they were redirected to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo.
Moscow was again attacked by unknown drones. In the morning, Russian media wrote about explosions near the villages of Valuevo, Akinshino and Krivosheino in the Moscow region. It was also reported about a drone attack on an administrative building on the territory of a military unit in the city of Kubinka in the Moscow region. Vnukovo Airport imposed restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft, they were redirected to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo.
They all seem to have fallen
Moscow authorities announced a repulsed drone attack on the city. According to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, “another attempt was made to attack Ukrainian drones in New Moscow and the Moscow region.”
“All detected UAVs have been removed,” Sobyanin’s statement was quoted by RIA Novosti. No one was killed or injured.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that five drones were shot down: four were destroyed by air defense systems in New Moscow, and another “was intercepted by electronic warfare and crashed in the territory of the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region.”
It happens
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Yusov secretly commented on the drone attack in Moscow on the morning of Tuesday, July 4.
On the air of the national telethon, he said that “it’s happening.”
“If we are talking about Moscow, then traditionally we do not comment on it. But it happens, it happens in life. If the Russian 45th Special Forces Brigade is engaged in sabotage in the Ukrainian rear, it means that someone can fly to Moscow. It is happening, “said Yusov.
What is the brigade?
The 45th Separate Guards Special Purpose Brigade, mentioned by Yusov, is stationed only in Kubinka, Moscow Region, where one of the drones ended up.
The brigade was actively involved in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It is believed to be the most elite airborne detachment in the Russian army. True, in Ukraine, these “elite troops” had a hard time. In September 2022, the BBC identified 14 servicemen of the 45th Special Forces Brigade who died in Ukraine.
According to media reports, criminals who previously had or had prior convictions for serious crimes began to be recruited into the brigade due to heavy losses in personnel.
Reaction
The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the drone attack with accusations against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying “Zelensky carries out these terrorist attacks using weapons supplied by the West or bought with Western funds.”
Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the presidential office, replied that terrorism is the actions of an aggressor country, and not the West or Ukraine.
He noted that today’s attack is “the main characteristic of Russia”, which should soon receive the status of a de jure terrorist country, because the crimes of the Russians are too obvious.
“The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs must realize: a terrorist attack is when you deliberately fire cruise / ballistic missiles at residential areas and a pizzeria in 16 months, when you destroy the city of Bakhmut with the artillery, when you demonstratively blow up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and your “devils in military uniform” demonstratively kill women/children/old people,” he wrote.
