Nine people were poisoned by bear meat in the village of Kuanda in Russia’s Trans-Baikal Territory. This was reported on July 3 by the press service of the Russian regional government.

“According to our information, residents of the village of Kuanda fell ill immediately after they ate a dinner of bear meat. An ambulance arrived at the scene and took 11 of them to the local central district hospital,” the report said. .
The most common and fatal infection from wild animal meat is trichinosis. Acute pain is caused by parasites living in muscle tissue.
