The occupying army of Russia was unable to force out the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, numbering up to 70 people, from their fortified positions under the eastern span of the Antonovsky bridge. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

ISW points to complaints by Russian propagandists about the military command that blindly ordered the occupiers to retake the territory “under the span of the Antonovsky bridge on the east bank, which led to significant losses among personnel and armored vehicles due to shelling from Ukrainian artillery and remotely installed.”
The occupiers attacked the eastern span of the Antonovsky bridge with Iskander ballistic missiles on June 30, although the extent of the damage is still unknown.
Yury Ignat, a spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Russian troops are mothballing Iskander missiles due to their shortage. According to him, Russian troops used one of them against a 70-man light infantry unit on the outskirts of the already destroyed bridge.
Russian propagandists complained that the Russian 8th Artillery Regiment (22nd Army Corps of the Black Sea Fleet) did not have enough ammunition to strike at Ukrainian positions.
