The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the European Union has not yet introduced the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, and 52 days have passed since the previous package. He said this in a speech at the European Council on May 30.
“Then, on April 8, 169 children were killed by the Russian occupiers, and so far – 243 children. Then 928 educational institutions were destroyed, now – 1888. The number of attacks of missile in Ukraine is about 1600. Russia used about 2400 missiles, and then there were about 1,000 missiles. This is the development of aggression, “Zelensky said.
According to him, accordingly, there should be progress in sanctions to compel the Russian Federation to seek peace with Ukraine.
“Nothing can be compromised at the expense of our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Why is there still no sixth package of sanctions? Why do you depend on Russian pressure, and not vice versa? Why can Russia still earn 1 billion euros a day by selling energy resources? ”Why are terrorist country banks still working in Europe and the global financial system? Serious questions. And why are Russian state channels still active on the territory of the Russian Federation? Why are Russian officials and judges still not under sanctions? ”Zelensky said.
The President also stressed that Europe must show strength.
