The European Council decided to extend the sanctions against Russia for another six months. The correspondent reported it Radio Liberty Ricarda Jozwiak in Twitter on Friday, June 30th.
“Meanwhile, the European Council decided to extend the EU sanctions against Russia for six months. Hungary requested an impact assessment, but agreed to a green light, due to the Commission’s assessment of the sanctions , which is in the near future,” Jozwiak wrote.
We are talking about the sanctions introduced by the European Union in 2014 in response to the annexation of Crimea by the Russians and the beginning of the invasion of Donbass. Since then, the restrictions have been expanded several times.
In total, 11 packages of sanctions were imposed against Russia, the last of which was introduced on June 23.
