At the request of journalists, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder at a briefing on June 29 commented on the information from The Wall Street Journal that the United States of America was allegedly close to agreeing on the transfer of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
I have nothing to report on ATACMS, and I do not know about any immediate decisions on ATACMS,” the official said.
At the end of May, US President Joe Biden, when asked whether it was time for the United States to provide Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles, replied that “this is still under consideration.”
The ATACMS missile has a range of up to 300 km. The White House is worried that these long-range missiles will not be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike Russian territory.
