Two sources close to the General Staff and FSB said that the general was not arrested and was not in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow, he was questioned, but then released.
At the same time, Surovikin’s daughter Veronika claimed that he was said to be at the workplace, reports the Baza Telegram channel.
According to him, “nothing happened to Surovikin,” no one arrested him, and now “everyone is at their jobs.” The general’s wife declined to comment on the news of her arrest.
The Western edition of Bloomberg also wrote that Surovikin was questioned about Prigozhin’s rebellion. According to the interlocutor of this publication, the general “is being kept somewhere, but not in prison, and the investigators are treating him carefully so as not to anger his military supporters.”
It will be remembered that Surovikin was the former commander-in-chief of the Russian invaders in Ukraine. In January, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, was appointed to this position, and Surovikin became his deputy.
