Danish energy company Orsted has refused to pay for Russian gas in rubles, the company said in a statement on Monday, May 30.

The company said it intends to make the next payment on Tuesday under the terms of the contract – in euros.
“There is a risk that Gazprom Exports will stop gas supplies,” the report said.
Earlier, Gazprom cut off gas supplies to Finland, Poland and Bulgaria.
Orsted hopes to provide alternative supplies to the European wholesale market.
In total, the Danish company imports 1.9 billion cubic meters of Russian gas per year.
