The head of the State Duma Defense Committee said that the PMC mercenaries “did nothing wrong” and no one complained against them.
The State Duma of the Russian Federation believes that PMC Wagner, who carried out the rebellion, did not prohibit anything. This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on Defense of the Russian Federation Andrei Kartapolov in an interview with Russian media.
According to him, the members of PMC Wagner, who are in Rostov-on-Don, “did nothing wrong,” because “they followed the orders of their command.” In his opinion, “they did not insult anyone, did not destroy anything” and no one complained against them – “neither the residents of Rostov, nor the military personnel of the Southern Military District, nor the enforcement agencies of the law.”
Kartapolov noted that now the fate of the Wagner PMC itself has not been fully determined. However, he believes that it is not necessary to ban it.
“Why ban? After all, here all the questions are for the leader of the PMC … The one who raised the rebellion must answer. We are used to chopping everyone to the root,” the Russian deputy said, adding that the Ang Wagner PMC is the most combat-ready unit in Russia, and “dispersed” it will be “the best gift for NATO and Ukraine.”
According to him, today the State Duma continues to work in all areas of activity of the state armed structure, and PMCs are one of its parts.
Earlier, Russian media reported that Yevgeny Prigozhin pleaded guilty to his mercenaries for killing the pilots and agreed to pay 50 million rubles to the victims’ families. According to him, “the stupid pvoshnik in the range shot everyone who flew.”
According to various sources, from 13 to more than 20 pilots of the Russian Federation died yesterday.
