Six people were killed and seven others injured in a collision between a pickup truck and a minibus in the Eastern Cape of South Africa (South Africa). Xinhua reported this yesterday.
A pickup truck with five passengers crashed into the back of a stopped minibus near the city of Mtata. The pickup overturned after the collision.
“All five people in the back of the pickup died on the spot. In addition, the passenger of the minibus died,” said Unati Binkose, a spokesperson for the Eastern Cape Department of Transportation.
He added that seven victims, including the pickup driver, were taken to the hospital with various injuries. The taxi driver was not hurt.
Earlier, five people died in the Carpathian region during the accident. The tragedy occurred in the village of Ivanovtsy, Kolomyia district.
Also this week in the Odessa region, five foreigners were injured in an accident. The driver lost control of the Mercedes-Benz Vito and drove into a ditch, where the minibus overturned.
