The SBU detained Russian Alexander Fedoseev, who is the “right hand” of the sanctioned billionaire Mikhail Shelkov. These persons organized a scheme for the hidden export of titanium raw materials from Ukraine to the Russian Federation. There it was used in the military-industrial complex, including for the production of Caliber missiles, MiG-35 and SU-35 combat aircraft, and Ka-52 helicopters.
Fedoseev arrived in Ukraine before February 24, 2022 to control this illegal business. According to reports, the organizers of the “scheme” shipped almost 11 tons of minerals to Russia, worth almost $2 million.
The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
The official position of the detainee is advisor to the general director of the VSMPO-AVISMA metallurgical corporation, owned by the Russian billionaire. It was through her that Shelkov arranged the supply of minerals to the Russian Federation from the deposits of the Demurinsky mining and processing plant controlled by him in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
Fedoseev was hiding from justice, but as a result of operational actions, the Security Service located him and detained him.
During the search, a Russian passport and documents with evidence of illegal activities were found on him.
Earlier, SBU investigators informed Shelkov and Fedoseyev of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 110-2 (financing of actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose Fedoseeva a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison. Comprehensive measures are being continued to bring to justice all persons involved in the “scheme”.
