“The parties confirmed the agreements on sending a mission to Ukraine to provide assistance under the IAEA Support and Assistance Mission in the Kherson Region (ISAMCO) program. Within its framework, a mission is planned to visit the affected area to assess the immediate needs, count and develop a long-term action plan. In particular, the many years of experience of the IAEA will be useful not only in dealing with the immediate consequences of the dam failure, but also as well as long-term recovery in the areas of human health, food and drinking water safety, animal health, land and water management, as well as assessing the condition of critical infrastructure facilities,” the ministry said in a statement. .
Recall that on June 15, the IAEA Director General visited the Zaporozhye NPP, after which he noted that one of the main consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP dam was a decrease in the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond.
On June 20, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported that Russian troops were also mining the cooling pond of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
