This is stated in the annual report of the organization.
The document was sent to members of the UN Security Council, according to Reuters and Agence France-Presse, who read the report.
According to AFP, a UN report on children in conflict zones will be published next week. According to Reuters, Guterres also included the Russian army on the “list of shame” – a list of the world’s offenders.
The UN Secretary-General said in a report that he was “particularly shocked” by the large number of children killed and maimed, as well as the number of attacks on schools and hospitals attributed to Russian forces. The report said Guterres was also “very concerned” about the large number of similar violations against children by the Ukrainian military.
The organization confirmed that Ukraine killed 477 children in 2022 (this is the official number of confirmed deaths, which in fact could be more – Rakurs). The UN managed to bring the involvement of the Russian armed forces in the death of 136, another 80 children allegedly died as a result of actions (which and on which territories of Ukraine are not specified in the publications) of the Ukrainian army, which is defending its country from Russian-Nazi invaders.
According to the report, 909 children received various injuries during the war, of which 518 suffered from the actions of the Russian army and related groups, and another 175 children were allegedly injured due to the activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The report says that Russian troops carried out 480 attacks on schools and hospitals in Ukraine. 91 children, according to the document, were used by the Russian military as human shields.
Recall that in March, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is suspected of illegal deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia. A similar order was issued against the Russian Children’s Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.
