Zelensky fired Ukraine’s ambassador to Belarus

On April 18, 2023, Igor Kizim was summoned to Kyiv for consultations due to the fact that Belarus supports the Russian Federation in its war against Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Igor Kizim from the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus. Decree No. 346/2023 on the expulsion of the ambassador was signed today, June 22.

“Dismiss Kizim Igor Yuryevich from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus,” the message said.

Igor Kizim is 62 years old, he comes from Kharkov. He was Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in the UK from 2014 to 2015. From 2017 to 2023, he was the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus.

On April 18, 2023, he was summoned to Kyiv for consultations due to the fact that Belarus supports the Russian Federation in its war against Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky held a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to eliminate the consequences of the terrorist attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
