The Dnieper River returned to the channel, which was before the construction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
After the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam by the Russians, the water retreated from the banks by 1300-1600 meters. The Dnieper River is almost returning to the channel it was in 70 years ago. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on Telegram.
He emphasized that one of the urgent needs in the zone of elimination of the consequences of the explosion of a hydroelectric power station is water – both drinking and technical.
“Now they are delivering it. But we are doing everything possible to carry out a complex of geodetic exploration works in the shortest possible time to launch wells. In parallel, we have 10 filtration stations for purifying drinking water water. We also have reserves for at least a month to provide everyone with drinking water,” said Klymenko.
According to the minister, all the necessary calculations are now being made to predict the water needs of the population and the capacity of the water basin of the Dnieper River after the dam is blown up by the invaders.
Recall that on the night of June 6, Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, which caused large-scale flooding in the territories of the Kherson region and caused great environmental, economic and humanitarian damage to Ukraine.
In Kryvyi Rih, the construction of a water conduit has begun, which should solve the problem of water supply to the population.
