The war between Ukraine and Russia could last longer than people expected and become more bloody, warns the Vice Prime Minister.
Residents of temporarily occupied areas must not stay in Russian -controlled communities and obtain Russian passports. This was announced on Sunday, May 29, by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk on her Telegram channel.
He also advised residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine, if possible, to leave for safety in the territories controlled by the government of Ukraine.
“Move to controlled territory. I know it will not be easy, but look for ways and opportunities. Because, ultimately, it is about your safety and the fate of you and your children,” Vereshchuk wrote.
Separately, he called on residents of the occupied regions not to become citizens of Russia. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, then the Russian passport “will create more problems than benefits.”
Vereshchuk explained that the war was likely to prolong, but assured that the Ukrainian authorities would not give up their territories.
“This war may be longer than expected. We will not give up our land. We will fight it, and we will win it back. Therefore, this war may be more bloody than we thought. After February 24, life of all Ukrainians This is especially true for those who now live in temporarily occupied territories, it is very difficult for them now, “he wrote.
The minister promised that in the future the Ukrainian army would recapture the occupied territories.
It was previously reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful attack south of Krivoy Rog.
