AI could make independent journalism better than ever, or replace it, say the authors of the idea.
Bild, one of the largest German newspapers, plans to replace editors with artificial intelligence. On Tuesday, June 20, The Guardian reports, citing a letter from publisher Bild to employees.
The letter said “the positions of editors, production staff, sub-editors, proofreaders and photo editors will not be the same as they are today.”
“The newspaper is sadly parting ways with colleagues whose jobs are being performed in the digital world through AI and/or automated processes,” said the letter sent to the tabloid’s employees.
It has been mentioned that AI can take jobs from hundreds of people.
In February, Matthias Depfner, CEO of newspaper owner Axel Springer SE, announced the changes and said that the media company should be “purely digital” and that AI tools like ChatGPT could “make independent journalism better than it was before.” In addition, he noted that the digitalization of the newspaper could save its owners about 100 million euros.
One of the founders of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, said that artificial intelligence has finished the last song of The Beatles.
Recall that in February, a chat bot with artificial intelligence ChatGPT became available in Ukraine.
