Neighbors of the chalet, where the daughter of the President of the Russian Federation visited, say that they often see Maria Vorontsova and her Dutch husband.

Austrian journalists have discovered a €10 million villa in the local resort of Kitzbühel believed to be owned by Russian oligarch Arkady Rotenberg and used by Maria Vorontsova, the daughter of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. This was discussed in the investigation of the newspaper Der Standard with international partners.

“Internal documents show that Putin confidant Arkady Rotenberg financed the purchase of a chalet in Kitzbühel. The house was also used by Putin’s daughter,” the article said.

This is a house at Oberleitenweg 31b in the Kitzbühel ski resort in Tyrol. Officially, neither the local authorities nor the federal interior ministry know who actually owns the 800-square-meter house with garden and swimming pool.

According to the publication, the Austrian Office for State Protection and Intelligence has been trying to find out the real owners of the house since April 2022. The intelligence service does not rule out that the property belongs to the sanctioned person, but the this suspicion has not been confirmed.

Journalists have learned that an Austrian real estate company sold this house in January 2013 for 10.8 million euros to the Cypriot company Wayblue Investments Limited. Since then, the chalet has been owned by this company, headquartered in Nicosia. However, internal documents reveal a system of corporate schemes, nominees and intermediaries in the EU, with the help of which the authorities were deceived for many years.

“According to them, the money used to buy the chalet came from Arkady Rotenberg,” said the investigation.

The purchase of the property was financed by a loan from the Cypriot company Olpon Investments, owned by Rotenberg since 2003. Olpon transferred 11.5 million euros to the then SMP Bank in Latvia, which, in turn, belongs to the Rotenbergs. From there, the money goes to Wayblue. Later, due to sanctions against the Rotenbergs, SMP became Meridian Trade Bank, with the loan going to an Estonian financial services provider that says it ended its business relationship with Wayblue in 2021.

As journalists note, it is difficult to determine who owns the shell company Wayblue Limited. It is only known that it is controlled by another Cypriot company called Velidom Limited, which is a provider of trust services and manages assets for third parties.

The investigation led to the conclusion that Maria Vorontsova, the eldest daughter of Vladimir Putin, was probably a regular visitor to Oberleitenweg 31b, temporarily since 2015, with her then husband, the Dutchman Jorrit Faassen, and their child.

According to the investigation, Putin’s son is always being watched. Especially often he visited the house in early January – for the New Year holidays.

One of the catering workers told the newspaper that he once cooked food at home for the occasion. Then there were about 30 people, and supposedly the leader of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin. Another person told Der Standard that he also saw Putin and his bodyguards on the Oberleitenweg in Kitzbühel.

A former neighbor reported seeing Maria Vorontsova and her Dutch husband at 31b Oberleitenweg.

Also, several other Kitzbühel residents told reporters that “everyone knows” about Putin’s daughter’s occasional stay at the house.

It will be recalled that earlier journalists reported that Vladimir Putin built for himself and his loved ones a new “royal village” – a collection of land holdings in the Moscow region around of his official residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
