British intelligence believes that a war criminal, the owner of the Russian private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is unwinding a conflict with the Russian Ministry of Defense against the backdrop of a Ukrainian counteroffensive. Prigozhin went to aggravate confrontation with the Russian defense department, despite the fact that such actions are inappropriate for Moscow against the backdrop of Ukraine’s counter-offensive operations.

This is stated in the intelligence review of the Ministry of Defense of Britain for June 20, published on Twitter.
On June 19, Prigozhin announced that he was waiting for a response from the RF Ministry of Defense of his own version of the “contract” for “volunteer formations,” which he had handed over three days earlier. British intelligence believes that this was the result of an ultimatum from the Russian Ministry of Defense to the “Wagnerites” and other “volunteer formations” to sign contracts before July 1, 2023.
Although the content of Prigozhin’s document has not been made public, the very fact of its transfer raises the stakes and, most likely, another deliberate attempt to undermine the authority of the official military leadership. The tone of the fit regarding the Russian Ministry of Defense has become unambiguously confrontational, the British say.
