It may take several months for the transfer of F-16 multifunctional light fighters to the Ukrainian armed forces from the territory of the United States or another ally country.

This is reported by the Military Times.
Washington has not yet announced the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. However, the country supports the intention of other allies to deliver these planes to Kyiv. In May, the media reported that the Netherlands is considering providing Ukraine with part of its F-16 fleet and plans to start training pilots. However, according to US foreign policy spokesman Stan Brown, the transfer of such aircraft to Ukraine should be a “holistic” approach, including the training of pilots and technicians.
One of the first steps in the transfer of F-16 aircraft will be a license to train these pilots before the aircraft transfer license even exists. The planes themselves then need to be identified—whether they will be delivered via third party transmission or another mechanism. The State Department is already working on paperwork for third-party transfer requests coming from countries like the Netherlands to kick-start the pilot training process. Brown declined to give specific deadlines for completing the paperwork.
Denmark and the Netherlands have announced their readiness to transfer their F-16 aircraft. The transfer of fighters is possible only after pilot training. At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that they had already begun.
