Airbus has won a record aircraft order from IndiGo

The Indian airline has placed orders for 500 A320s, the aerospace corporation said.

European aerospace corporation Airbus SE has received an order for 500 aircraft from Indian airline IndiGo. Such indicators are a record for the industry.

The agreement between the two companies was signed at the Paris Air Show, which opened on Monday at Le Bourget. Its financial details were not disclosed.

Airbus said IndiGo has placed an order for 500 A320s. As a result of this agreement, the total number of Airbus aircraft ordered by Indian airlines has increased to 1.33 thousand.

IndiGo has become the world’s largest customer for the A320 family aircraft, Airbus said.

IndiGo’s share in the Indian market is 61%. The airline received the first A320neo aircraft from Airbus in March 2016. Since then, the number of these aircraft in its fleet has increased to 264 units.
