An employee of the local Ukrzaliznytsia station worked for the enemy. At the beginning of 2023, he was recruited by a staff member of the Main Directorate of the General Staff from the Russian Federation. The traitor collected information about the railway transportation routes and places of unloading of foreign military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in the counter-offensive operations of the Ukrainian troops. This was announced on June 19 by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The attacker filmed objects in detail on a smartphone camera during work trips by train. Intelligence information was required by the invaders to carry out air strikes in the region.
In addition, the Russians wanted to involve the railroad to undermine the tracks. Thus, the enemy planned to disrupt the supply of fuel, weapons and ammunition for the Defense Forces on the southeastern front.
During a search at the defendant’s place of residence, law enforcement officers found F-1 and RGD-5 grenades, a carbine, a large number of small arms cartridges and smoke bombs. The attacker was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law), Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Now the traitor is in jail, he faces life imprisonment.
Recall that in the Dnepropetrovsk region, counterintelligence of the SBU exposed an agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff from the Russian Federation. The traitor turned out to be a resident of Energodar, who, even before the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia, joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
