On Sunday, June 18, in the city of Reni, an employee of the military registration and enlistment office opened fire in a public place during the delivery of the summons. A conflict arose between two representatives of the regional TCC and a local resident during the delivery of the summons to him. During a verbal skirmish, one of the representatives of the military command and control body fired a shot uphill from a starting pistol. This was reported by the press service of the Odessa region police.
Eyewitnesses of the incident called the police. The police have identified all the participants in the conflict, with whom investigative actions are currently underway. Weapons, cartridges and a spent cartridge case were seized. All this was handed over to the experts.
Investigators qualified the event under Part 4 of Art. 296 (hooliganism committed with the use of an object adapted for causing bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An employee of the military registration and enlistment office faces imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
A video was circulated on social networks, in which men in military uniform were accused of shooting in a public place.
Recall, on May 2, the Verkhovna Rada extended the mobilization and martial law in Ukraine for another 90 days – until August 18, 2023. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, martial law has continued for the seventh time.
