The Ukrainian Armed Forces are continuing the first stage of their offensive operation, that is, conducting reconnaissance to find weak spots in the defensive positions of the Russian occupation forces, said Colonel Margo Grosberg, head of the Estonian intelligence center Defense Forces, , ERR report.
“Obviously, the initiative is now in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which means they choose the time, place and way in which they will attack enemy units,” he said.
In this regard, the Russian Federation will try to destroy Ukraine’s offensive capabilities as much as possible, using artillery, minefields, as well as air strikes, Grosberg said.
The head of Estonian intelligence emphasized that the Russian Federation has spent the last nine months building up its defense in the occupied territories, so Ukraine is not in a hurry with its counteroffensive.
“For this reason, and in order not to take unnecessary risks, the Ukrainians approach their operation more methodically, more carefully and quietly, because both human and technical resources are, in fact, worth their weight in gold,” he continued.
Grosberg noted that the search for weaknesses in the Russian lines and, perhaps, along the entire front line, will continue next week.
“We will not see an offensive for the next seven days,” he concluded.
It will be remembered that in one week the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated seven settlements. More than 100 sq. km of territory.
