A fire broke out on the ship Esperanza Star this morning while sailing from the Philippine province of Sikigor to the province of Bohol.
A Philippine ferry with 120 passengers and crew on board caught fire in the ocean. A rescue operation is underway. This was reported by the Associated Press, citing representatives of the Coast Guard on Sunday, June 18.
It is indicated that the fire on the Esperanza Star vessel broke out early in the morning while sailing from the Philippine province of Sikigor to the province of Bohol.

Meanwhile, photos and videos released by the Coast Guard show flames and black smoke billowing from two decks at one end of the ferry.

It will be remembered that in March, the Lady Mary Joy 3 ferry caught fire in the Philippines. Then 31 people died, including six children. In total, there were about 250 people on board.
Earlier, a fire on the MV Abhijan-10 ferry in Bangladesh killed at least 30 people and injured more than 100 passengers.
