To date, two prototypes of the Turkish unmanned aircraft Bayraktar Kızılelma have been created.
The Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned fighter has successfully passed new tests, in particular, an identification system test at high altitude. This was announced on Friday, June 16, by Selcuk Bayraktar, technical director of Baykar Makina, at Twitter.
As part of the new test phase, the unmanned aircraft took off from the Akıncı training and test center in the Chorlu region of Turkey’s northwestern Tekirdag province.
“Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully completed flight tests at high altitude,” he said.
An unmanned aircraft designed by Turkish has a speed of 630 km/h. The device weighing up to 8.5 tons can carry a load of 1.5 tons. The aircraft can perform operations offline.
The device is capable of conducting air-to-air combat like manned combat aircraft with aggressive maneuvers, unlike unmanned aerial vehicles.
The future unmanned fighter will be armed with SOM-J cruise missiles with a range of more than 250 km for surface combat operations and guided munitions of the Roketsan MAM family for small strike operations.
Serial production of the aircraft is scheduled for 2024.
Recall that in early June, Russia launched a fake about the “destruction” of the Ukrainian fleet of Bayraktar drones.
And in April, Ukraine signed three agreements with the Bayraktar manufacturer. These contracts will provide our country with export revenues and a new generation of weapons.
