Denmark and the Netherlands bought 14 Leopard 2 tanks for Ukraine – media

The first tanks of this batch are planned to be delivered to Ukraine in January 2024, and all other tanks will arrive during 2024.

Between Denmark, the Netherlands and the German defense concern Rheinmetall AG, a contract was signed for the supply of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Handelsblatt reported this on June 15, citing NATO sources.

It is noted that Denmark and the Netherlands have financed the purchase of 14 tanks, which will be supplied by Rheinmetall. The German government also participated in the agreement, which gave permission for the export of these weapons.

Remember, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that the country plans to increase the supply of refurbished Leopard 1 tanks for Ukraine’s needs.
