Authorities are working on a bill to prevent rising gas prices for the population.
During the war, gas prices for the population had to remain unchanged, and a corresponding bill was developed. This was announced on Saturday night, May 28, by the Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, on the Telegram channel.
He noted that the options for state compensation of the delta between the gas market price and the current tariff for consumers of DH companies will be evaluated and proposed for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada.
“The main purpose of the project developed was to maintain current tariffs for gas and heat for the population at least during the war,” Tymoshenko wrote.
According to him, this issue was discussed in a conference call with NJSC Naftogaz and the heads of regional military administrations and mayors of cities.
It will be recalled that a day earlier, Naftogaz denied the increase in gas prices. It was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law, which, among other things, provides for the introduction of a moratorium on increasing gas prices and tariffs for thermal energy.
It should be noted that the average price of imported gas in Ukraine in April fell to $ 1,228 per thousand cubic meters.
