“Z attack companies” were formed from convicted people to conduct offensive operations and urban battles during the war against Ukraine.
In Russia, a special commission was created to select representatives of “attack companies z”, formed from convicted people, and train them to carry out tasks in the combat zone as part of a ” volunteer corps.” This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It was noted that the special commission is headed by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian occupation forces in Ukraine, Major General Polguev.
“The commission issued an order to select about two thousand people from the “special contingent”, conduct training with them in training areas located in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, and transfer them to the combat zone ,” said the GUR.
It was also reported that members of Polguev’s special commission in the occupied territories of Ukraine are provided with enhanced security, and groups of the military police of the Russian Federation will monitor discipline among voluntary prisoners.
The intelligence added that, by order of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin No. PRS-563, “attack companies z” were formed from convicted individuals to conduct offensive operations and urban battles during the war against Ukraine. In practice, the work units, staffed by the so-called “special contingent”, showed very low combat capabilities.
“Alcoholism, theft, and desertion are rampant among those occupying the prisons, including due to catastrophic losses,” GUR said in a statement.
Recall that the Ukrainian defenders in the direction of Taurida liquidated about four companies of Russians during the day.
According to the General Staff, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 217,910 people.
