Allies will adapt to changing conditions on the battlefield and adjust at the pace at which Ukraine’s needs change, Lloyd Austin assured.
Ukraine’s allies will provide the Ukrainian army at a high speed with everything needed during the counter-offensive. This is what US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said before the meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format in Brussels on Thursday, June 15.
According to him, the “military marathon” has started on the territory of Ukraine.
“Therefore, today we will consider the most pressing needs that Ukraine puts forward. We will also aim for long-term and lasting peace for Ukraine, which lives next to such a neighbor,” said Austin.
He noted that the contact group will focus on ensuring that Ukraine can protect its population and critical infrastructure with air defense systems.
“And thanks to such systems, Ukraine resists drone attacks and missile attacks. We are talking about the Patriot and NASAMS systems that keep Ukrainians alive. And now we will dig let’s go deeper so that Ukraine can receive new shells, ammunition for air defense systems,” he reassured the head of the Pentagon.
Austin promised that allies will adapt to changing conditions on the battlefield and keep pace with how quickly Ukraine’s needs change.
“Our colleagues are also working on additional training plans for the Ukrainian military so that they are stable and uninterrupted,” the Pentagon chief added.
It will be remembered that today is the 13th meeting in the Ramstein format. It will discuss a coalition of fighters for Ukraine and the strengthening of military aid to ensure the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
