According to Polish police representative Andrzej Borowiak, the accident occurred in the Szamotulsky district of the Greater Poland Voivodeship. The driver of the Fiat Seicento car, as a precaution, slowed down when starting to approach the two cyclists on the side of the road. However, the driver driving the Volkswagen Passat did not react to the speed change of the first car and crashed into it.
It was noted that as a result of the impact, the Fiat was thrown into the oncoming lane, where it collided with the Opel Corsa. As a result of the accident, five people were hospitalized, including one of the cyclists, a 14-year-old Ukrainian. He later died in the hospital.
