Alex Soros said the fund will continue to engage in politics. In particular, he is concerned about the candidacy of Donald Trump in the presidential election.
Billionaire and philanthropist George Soros is transferring control of his Open Society funds to his youngest son Alex, 37. On Sunday, June 11, The Wall Street Journal reported.
In his first interview in his new position, Alex Soros said the foundation will continue to engage in politics. In particular, he is concerned about the candidacy of Donald Trump in the presidential election.
“I am more political. As much as I would like to remove money from politics, while the other side is doing it, we will also have to do it,” Alex Soros said.
He also plans to “redouble efforts to protect voting rights and personal liberties at home and support the cause of democracy abroad.”
It can be recalled that Soros previously called the Chinese leader “the greatest threat” and called on the international community to encourage China to change its political regime.
