Almost all shelters were checked in Ukraine. Of these, a third is closed or unusable.
In Ukraine, about 63 thousand shelters were examined, of which a third became closed or unusable. This was announced on Sunday, June 11, by the State Emergency Service.
“9.3% were closed, 23.6% of those assessed were unavailable. As of June 10, 62,912 shelters were assessed. 0.6% of the total number were not assessed due to the fighting,” the State Emergency Service said.
It was noted that 4655 shelters were examined in Kyiv, of which 0.6% were closed, 34.6% were not available.
In total, about two thousand groups, consisting of representatives of local executive authorities, the State Emergency Service and National Police, worked on the territory of Ukraine.
Recall that during the air attack in Kyiv on June 1 in the Desnyansky district, two women and a 9-year-old girl were killed on the street, trying to get into a closed shelter on the territory of the clinic.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke highly of the level of preparedness of the shelters. In fact, in the capital, part of the shelters are still not accessible to people, and in some parts of the city they are still not there.
