The soldiers were given medical aid and handed over to the Russian side. One of the prisoners, a member of the Wagner PMC, expressed a desire to join the RDK.
On Sunday, June 11, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) announced that they had handed over to the Russian Federation Russian prisoners of war who laid down their arms in the Novaya Tavolzhanka area of the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region. At the same time, one of the prisoners expressed a desire to go to RDK. The video of the conversation with the prisoners was published on the Telegram channel of the corps.
It was reported that the soldiers were given medical aid and handed over to the Russian side at the border of the Sumy and Belgorod regions.
“You will now be given to your home, to your homeland. I want our paths in life to never cross. And certainly not on the battlefield,” said a representative of the RDK to the captives in the video.
In another video, the RDK commander told Russian soldiers that they had a choice – to go to an exchange, participate in the “I want to live” program, or voluntarily join the ranks of the RDK.
“One of the prisoners, Vladislav Izmailov, who once fought in the ranks of the Wagner PMC, refused the exchange and expressed a desire to become a fighter of the RDK. After appropriate checks, we will be happy to give Vlad a chance to fight in our ranks,” the message said.
Recall that last week the Russian Federation recognized the loss of control over Novaya Tavolzhanka, which includes the RDK.
